High-profile British rapper and YouTuber Yung Filly, who is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Perth hotel, has been spotted publicly for the first time since being granted bail on Thursday.
Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, who goes by the stage name “Yung Filly”, has been on tour in Australia.
He faced Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, four counts of sexual penetration without consent and one count of impeding another person’s normal breathing or blood circulation by applying pressure to the neck.
The alleged assault took place in a Perth hotel room in the early hours of September 28, after a performance at Bar1 Nightclub.
He was ordered to remain in Australia until December for another hearing.
He was granted bail on a series of conditions, including that he must report daily to police.
On Saturday, he was spotted reporting for bail at the Perth Police Station on Fitzgerald Street just after 10am.
In footage taken outside the police station, the rapper was seen wearing a green cap, hooded cream jumper and black shorts, as he quickly made his way inside the station.
According to the Daily Mail, he was inside the station for around five minutes before he was photographed exiting the building and getting into a black Mercedes van.
He appeared sombre as he exited the police station and walked towards his vehicle, ignoring camera crews and reporters – and not making any comments.
Police allege they have CCTV of Mr Barrientos and a woman leaving Bar1 Nightclub in Hillarys after his performance on September 27, before she entered a hotel with the influencer, The West reports.
The woman is then alleged to have been captured on camera leaving that same hotel on September 28, where the alleged offending occurred, the court was told, according to the publication.
“WA Police Sex Assault Squad detectives will allege on Saturday 28 September 2024, the man sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s, in his Perth hotel room after he had performed at a venue in Hillarys,” the WA Police said in a statement on Thursday.
“This investigation is ongoing and Sex Assault Squad detectives urge anyone with information relating to this matter, or any similar incidents, to call Crime Stoppers.”
Mr Barrientos, 29, was taken into custody in Brisbane on Tuesday and WA detectives extradited him to Perth on Wednesday.
At the Thursday hearing, Mr Barrientos was granted bail with strict conditions, with a personal undertaking of $100,000 and a surety of $100,000.
He will next appear at Perth Magistrates Court on December 19 for a committal mention.
The London performer boasts 1.8 million followers on YouTube, 3.2 million on TikTok and has racked up three million streams on Spotify.
He also hosts TV shows on the BBC, including Yung Filly’s Celeb Lock-In and Hot Property.
