Death threats sent to a 27-year-old woman before she took her own life at a popular Sydney brewery are set to form part of an investigation into the young model’s mysterious death.
Newtown woman Savana Calvo was found dead at Sydney’s Young Henrys brewery in Enmore about 11.30pm last Wednesday.
Police have said her death is not suspicious, but who discovered Ms Calvo’s body and why it was found more than four hours after the venue closed at 7pm is still unknown.
News.com.au can reveal death threats the model was receiving in the lead-up to her death are now set to form part of the investigation which has been referred to the NSW Coroner.
Ms Calvo’s grieving family members have spoken to multiple media outlets this week, revealing how she became caught up with some “dodgy young guys” before her death.
“As her father, I knew very well that she was being harassed and stalked and I tried to intervene,” Mr Calvo told the Daily Telegraph.
“Although we were very close, daughters only tell their parents so much.
“There’s more and more coming out, she was involved with some dodgy young guys, owed money, and leading up to last week she was getting multiple death threats.
“It’s just an incredible disaster, a nightmare, we’re slowly working our way through it.”
A GoFundMe has also been set up by her father to raise funds for her funeral.
“As we come to terms with Savana’s passing, we are faced with the difficult task of arranging her final farewell,” her father wrote on the fundraiser page.
“We want to give her the dignified and heartfelt send-off she deserves, but unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses and surrounding costs are overwhelming for Savana’s family during this already challenging time.”
It has raised more than $31,000.
On the campaign page, Mr Calvo also wrote how Ms Calvo was going through “some trying times” in the lead up to her death.
“She was a cherished daughter, sister and friend who brought so much love and light into all of our lives,” he said.
“She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.”
