‘She’s tough’: Jacqui Lambie’s pick for Qld

Written by on July 26, 2024

Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie will be hoping she can pick up another senate spot next year but this time it’s a lot further north.

Ange Harper will be the Jacqui Lambie Network’s lead senate candidate for Queensland during the 2025 federal election.

Ms Harper, who worked in the ADF and is an aviation paramedic veteran, has known Senator Lambie for years after the pair went through Defence training together in Kapooka.

The Brisbane woman is running her campaign on youth crime and improving access to Queensland health services.

“She’s tough, she’s honest and I know that if she is elected she will work hard for Queensland,” Senator Lambie said.

“Ange embodies toughness, honesty and an unwavering work ethic.

“With her big heart, her presence in the federal parliament is just what we need.

“She is a woman of her word and relentless in pursuing her goals.

“I am confident that if elected, she will dedicate herself wholeheartedly to working for the betterment of Queensland.”

While no election date has been set, six Queensland senate seats will be up for grabs in 2025.

The six-year term is set to expire for Labor senator Nita Green, One Nation senator Malcolm Roberts, Greens senator Larissa Waters, and Liberal National senators Susan McDonald, Gerard Rennick and Paul Scarr at the upcoming election.

Senator Lambie said Ms Harper would work hard for the people of Queensland if elected next year.

“Ange is tough, honest, a hard worker, and she has a big heart,” she said.
