Cody Simpson has shared a heartfelt tribute to his Olympian girlfriend Emma McKeon after she cleaned up with three medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The couple first met when Simpson joined the Australian Swim Team in 2022, and began seeing each other in April.
The Australian pop star-turned-swimmer cheered McKeon on from the sidelines at this year’s Olympics after missing out on qualifying himself.
Simpson has now shared a touching message for his girlfriend on social media, calling her “Golden girl”.
“Emma, to have had a seat to watch you compete and complete your Olympic career with such grace and power was a privilege,” he wrote.
“You inspire me immensely and it’s an honour to be your man! I’m punching and I know it so I’m glad you haven’t figured that out yet!”
The tribute comes after McKeon snatched up gold in the women’s 4x100m freestyle relay while also taking out silver in the women’s 4x100m medley relay and bronze in the mixed 4x100mm medley relay.
She has now retired as the most decorated Australian in Olympic history, after she earlier announced the Paris Olympics would be her last.
McKeon touched down at Sydney Airport on Wednesday morning with her fellow Olympians, calling the return a special moment.
“I guess it’s just everything you train for and everything you work hard for,” she said on Today.
“And I guess all the support that we’ve got around us as well, it’s just as much their medal, so I think it’s just coming home and seeing this and having my special people here and all that, it’s just it makes it all worth it.”
Her younger sister, Caitlin, earlier told Today that it was “overwhelming” but “special” hearing about her sister’s achievements.
“I guess it’s pretty overwhelming, but it’s so special to know that she’s worked so hard for so many years and has been able to achieve what she has,” Ms McKeon said.

“And then just to hear, I guess, statements like that, it’s like, ‘Wow, that’s actually my big sister that’s done all that.”
She added there was “such a buzz” at the airport while waiting for McKeon to arrive.
Her message to her sister was: “Welcome home, I missed you.”
