‘F**k me’: Huge snake captured in SA

A monster snake pulled from the engine bay of a 4WD has prickled the hairs on even an experienced snake catcher’s neck.
A video of wrangler Max retrieving a 2kg king brown, or Mulga, in eastern South Australia surfaced on Wednesday.
“F**kin’ hell … look at the size of this thing,” Max says in the video as he grips the snake’s lower tail.
“F**k me … holy Jesus Christ. Sorry. It’s the biggest one I’ve ever seen. What the f**k … sorry, I keep swearing,” the commentary continues, as he pulls it from the wheel arch.
“I am f**kin’ nervous about this thing. What the f**k. That’s so heavy,” he adds once the snake has been fully extracted from the vehicle.
King browns are the largest venomous snake in Australia.
In a post online, Snake Catchers Adelaide says a couple were camping in the Murray Mallee region, near the Victorian border, when the snake slithered up into the engine.
The couple thought the beast was a python.
“They’d assumed it was a python given the size, but turned out to be a beast of a mallee form mulga,” a Snake Catchers Adelaide spokesperson said.
“Luckily we’re able to get it right back out to exactly where it came from, with no injury from its ride in the engine bay!”
The Mulgas were rare around the agricultural lands of the Murray River.
“ … so it’s awesome to see a big individual like this kicking around.”
Mulgas are the most widely dispersed snake in Australia, found most places except in Tasmania, Victoria and the southern coast of WA, information from the Australian Museum shows.
In the wild Mulgas average about 2-metres long, and the largest ever measured was 3.3-metres, found in Darwin.
