An Australian teenager has died after allegedly consuming a poisoned cocktail while travelling with friends in Laos.
Bianca Jones, 19, died this week after she and her friend Holly Bowles reportedly consumed drinks laced with methanol.
The pair were rushed to hospital in Thailand for emergency care.
In a statement to The Herald Sun, the family of Ms Jones confirmed her tragic passing.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news that our beloved daughter and sister, Bianca Jones, has passed away,” the statement reads.

It is understood Ms Bowles remains in a critical condition.
The pair, both from Melbourne, were staying at the Nana Backpacker Hostel in the tourist hotspot of Vang Vieng, north of capital Vientiane.
The teens were travelling through Southeast Asia together.
There are multiple victims in the mass poisoning event.
The US State Department has confirmed the death of a US citizen in Vang Vieng.

“We are closely monitoring the situation and providing consular assistance.”
DFAT has updated its travel advice for Laos to warn of alcohol risks in the country.
